Original gray cloth with gilt lettering on spine. 5 X 7 1/2. 81 pages. Riggs (1899-1954) was a Native American (Cherokee) play write, author and poet. Riggs wrote 21 full length plays, several short stories, poems and television scripts. The copy is his play that he wrote in 1926 The musical "Oklahoma" was adapted from one of his plays. One black and white photograph of Helen Coburn as "Betty." Copy is inscribed with the following, "For the dear Lewises- who were accomplices, Lynn Riggs, Yaddo Saratoga Springs, Oct. 7, 1927" Several pages have a slight dampstain on the top edge.
