11 by 17-inch poster used as a playbill. Written by Michel de Ghelderode; translated by George Hauger; directed by R. G. Davis. During intermission Lawrence Ferlinghetti and David Meltzer read poetry on alternate nights. The play ran at the Commedia Repertory Theatre on October 14-23, 1965. The play, a satirical look at organized religion, was one of the first events produced by Bill Graham, who began working with the San Francisco Mime Troupe (SFMT) in early 1965. While in the form of a poster, the SFMT's website refers to this a playbill. As a poster, this is singularly ineffective, as it does not obviously include the date or location of the performance other than a cryptic note in small type at the bottom of the page. Folded twice (as with the other copy we've had), a bit wrinkled, thus very good. A scarce poster. Bookseller Inventory #
