About this Item

898 pages, plus eleven hand colored plates by J. G. Keulmans. There are a couple of penciled notations in an unknown hand, including "given me by G. E. Shelley" on the title page. Blind and gilt stamped red cloth covers show wear at spine ends and corners, and a little general rubbing. Gilt decoration on top board remains bright, and lettering and decoration on spine is good, but a little faded. First few leaves, including Keulemans illustrated frontispiece show a little foxing, however, image on frontispiece remains good. All illustrations are present and in very good condition, save for foxing on frontispiece. Contents are otherwise clean and intact. Volume remains fairly tight, however, there is just a little loosening/separation between a few of the signatures. First English Edition from Second German. Bookseller Inventory # 031193
