Synopsis:

A treasure for birdwatchers and ornithologists. Brazil begins with a description of the geography, climate, and habitat features of Japan, including information on the best birdwatching sites. The bulk of the volume is given to accounts of every species recorded to the end of 1989, with emphasis on the endemic and near-endemic species. For each, there is a distribution map, details of past and current distribution and status, and information on breeding, migration, ecology, behavior, and, where relevant, voice.
