Unpaginated. Publisher's gilt decorated cloth with lettering and decoration to upper board and spine; all edges gilt. Cloth in much better condition than usual, with only a couple of marks to upper board and minor wear and bumping to extremities. A few names written in in ink at certain dates and scattered foxing. Gilt-detailed colour plates introduce each month with poems by various poets including Longfellow, Wordsworth and Morris. Blank alphabeticised index at rear for adding contact details. Princess Beatrice spent 30 years editing the journals of her mother, Queen Victoria and she designed this book. 4to.

We have been trading in Chiswick for 55 years - come and visit us in our bow-windowed c18th shop. All of our shipments are now tracked. Our Standard service is currently Royal Mail Tracked with FedEx, UPS and Parcelforce for larger parcels; local conditions vary so please be patient with us. Stephen Foster ; Foster Books, 183 Chiswick High Road, London W4 2DR. Old and rare books, a good turnover of stock leaning towards Arts subjects. Fine bindings, illustrated, literature. Only 5 minutes walk from Turnham Green tube station on the District Line in West London. The Chiswick shop is open Monday to Saturday 10-30 to 17-30 GMT and most Sundays 11 to 5 and earlier at the beginning of the month when the Flower and Antiques Markets are on in front of the shop (by all means call in advance to be sure). delivery within London postcodes for some orders - ask for a quote. Valuable
items will be sent via registered airmail or one of the courier services. Large
orders can be sent via consolidation, which reduces the cost per book. In the
unlikely event of an incorrect description, a full refund will be provided, but
please e-mail/telephone first, and within seven days of receipt of the book.
All books are published in London and 8vo. unless stated, and remain my property
until paid for in full.
The shop is open Mon. - Sat. 10.30am to 5.30pm, and most Sundays 11 to 5. If you find yourself in London, do come along and browse. Chiswick is about half way between Heathrow
Airport and Central London.
