About this Item

First edition. Pebbled brown cloth lined in gilt, spine lettering and decoration gilt. 339 pp. with 8 pp. of publisher's ads. First person memoirs of George Noyes, captain in the U.S. Volunteers in the Civil War. In addition to relating day-to-day activities in camp, Noyes describes action at several key battles including Second Bull Run, South Mountain, Antietam and Fredericksburg. A tight copy, all gilt still fairly bright, slight wear at the tips and slight fade to the spine. Quite nice indeed. Bookseller Inventory # D7641
