About this title

A black cat finally finds a home in this sweet flap book about the rewards of persistence.

THE BLACK CAT is sad because she doesn’t have a home. She tries the birds’ wire, the bats’ belfry, even the foxes’ hole, but none of these hangouts is right for a cat. Will the cat ever find a place of her own?

About the Author:

Richard Powell has written and designed many books for preschoolers and now lives in Somerset, England, with his wife and two teenage sons.

Ana Martín Larrañaga says that when illustrating THE BLACK CAT she would often see a cat sunning itself on her garden shed roof and wished she could be a cat to join him. The illustrator of more than forty books, she currently lives in a small town in Germany.
