De Priest was a noted civil rights activist, as well as a member of congress. A sociological study of the South Side of Chicago and its population of African Americans, providing a history and insight into the unique society and culture that developed in that area. FAIR jacket and book. Faint dampstaining present to the lower jacket and book, affecting the lower page margins. General fading to the jacket. Minor to moderate soiling, most noticeable to the rear panel. Spine rather sunned. Jacket extremities, chipped and worn with some small tearing and creasing. Some fading and white paper residue present along the lower edges of the book, likely from the dampstain/exposure to water. Minor fading, rubbing, soiling and edgewear to the book.
