This is a collection of Irish poetry with a political satire bent, "THE BLARNEY BALLADS" by Charles L. Graves. 1888; Swan Sonnenschein & Co.; London. There are 14 full-page illustrations by G.R. Halkett. Gilt top page edges. "Nearly all departments of Irish poetry are here represented, from the Bardic Ode to the Broadsheet." Poems include "Irish War Song," "The Streets of Dublin," "The Irish Vote," "The Irish Tanner," "The New Guy Fawkes," "The Anti-English Englishman" and many more.Condition: Some very light soiling to the covers and spine; tiny cloth tears at the corner tips. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Consistent mild foxing to the pages (though a bit heavier on the title page and frontispiece). Foxing to the long and bottom edges of the text block.
