Very-good+, clean copy of this 1911 hardback. Decorative, dark-green boards with gilt lettering (clean and bright - shows only light wear). ONLY writing inside book is previous owner's signature and date in book front, on blank page (Melmi Marlott - Feb 14th 1912). 287 pages. Tight spine. NO foxing. Pages show only a slight tanning. NO tears inside book. A popular fairy play about children compared favorably to Peter Pan and which served as the basis for several film versions, two silent black and white adaptations include the 1918 version directed by Maurice Tourneur. In 1940 Walter Lang directed the Shirley Temple version and in the latest film adaptation, The Blue Bird, became a star studded 1976 color production directed by George Cukor and starring Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Fonda and Ava Gardner.
