About this title

Reese Windsong never thought he would act like an overgrown child forever, but he never expected for it to end this quickly. When Reese's best friend, Priscilla Masten (affectionately nicknamed 'Cilla.) takes in four children, he decides it is time to grow up and get a real job. This becomes more vital when 'Cilla's father falls gravely ill and can no longer bring in the money to feed them. Coming home from work one day, he is ambushed by a local troublemaker, who now has a price on his head. Suspicions grow when Reese finds half a burnt envelope in the florist's wood stove. What do the kind doctor, Reese's employer, and 'Cilla's father know about it? Find out as the story is thrown back and forth from Reese and 'Cilla's childhood to the present. Meanwhile, 'Cilla has an uncomfortable question thrown at her in an insulting way. Reese meets an mysterious elderly gentleman that has insight into Reese's unknown past. And Reese finally makes the decision to do something that would change his life forever.
