Synopsis: Blues For the Grauballeman creates a landscape of language that engages the reader not only on a visual and visceral level but on an emotional and intellectual one as well. As the poet digs for truth and sifts through layers of meaning, the poem embodies a created experience: the physical body of utterance, the archeological flesh of meaning.
About the Author: Ken Cathers is married with two sons and lives with his family in the town where he was born, Ladysmith, B.C. He has worked at Harmac Pacific Pulp Mill in Nanaimo for thirty-two years. He lifts weights, rides a mountain bike, drinks too much wine, travels excessively, laughs at stupid jokes and filters everything through writing. Not a bad life apparently. He has a B.A. from University of Victoria and a M.A. from York University in Toronto. His previous books include World of Strangers (Ekstasis Editions). This is his fifth published book of poetry.
