Par M. De Grace, Cenfeur Royal, Amateur & Caltivateur. L'almanach Le Bon Jardinier a été fondé en 1755 par Pons-Augustin Alletz qui le publia jusqu'en 1781. Le Bon Jardinier de 1785 parle d'une première édition qui date d'avant 1760 et paru chez un libraire à Liège, ensuite à l'initiative d'un libraire de Rouen sous le titre de : Manuel du jardinier que l'auteur considère comme un plagiat (voir l'édition de 1785 par M. de Grace, censeur Royal). Thomas-François de Grace le continua jusqu'en 1796 ; puis il fut repris par Mordant-DelaunayThe work has been published in one hundred and fifty-three editions. The 152nd edition was published in 1962. It was reissued in 1992 for a 153rd edition made up of three volumes. With the exception of 1815 and 1871 [1], the years when Paris was besieged, the title appeared each year without interruption until 1914. Since that date, only four editions have been published, called the Horticultural Encyclopedia, because of their volume and their content each time fully revised. The last publication, that of 1992, is the 153rd! This is the second series of yearly publication taken by M. de Grace in 1778. Original leather binding with corner chips and spine edges cracked. Gilt tooling and title on spine, marbled endpapers. A rare collectible of horticultural importance. Seller Inventory # 275429
