About this title

Ever since boyhood, people have laughed when they discover Anthony Bond has the same surname as the iconic spy, and that the fictitious James’s name is borrowed from the real-life ornithologist Anthony happens to share birthdays with. Anthony’s own adventures begin at birth, during a World War II air raid. Later, he rebels against his English middle class upbringing and emigrates to Canada.  Anthony’s first job in television is working for an infamous producer who has been fired for feeding answers to game show contestants. Following an elderly aunt’s tip about a notorious ancestor, Anthony unearths links to a royal lineage. After his last TV assignment, directing a film about a round-the-world flight, Anthony ends up at a spiritual community famous for its nature spirits. And while making an anti-nuke documentary in Washington, he meets a beautiful woman who changes his life.

About the Author:

Like his namesake James, Anthony Bond has always been open to new experiences and has worked in a variety of occupations, among them taxi driver, business owner, tax preparer, producer, director and story editor for over two hundred documentary programs for US and Canadian television. He has written news stories, magazine articles, movie reviews and documentary film scripts. He has lived in spiritual ashrams, performed disaster relief in Guatemala and New Orleans and completed 14 marathons. Anthony was born in a former bishop’s palace during a World War II air raid. His first act of independence after leaving an English public school was to immigrate to Canada where he discovered journalism at the University of Toronto. Anthony possesses EU, Canadian and US passports. His extended family of sisters, nephews, nieces (plus kids), lives in England. He’s about a 4 on the introvert-extrovert scale and was once mistaken for Paul Newman. A member of Mensa, the high IQ society, he shares a birthday (January 4th) with the real James Bond, an ornithologist whose name was borrowed for the fictional hero.
