Very good, quarter light brown calf over marbled boards. Five raised bands on spine. Spine lettering in gilt, with author name misspelled as Lawrence on the spine. Marbled endpapers. Gift note to first blank leaf. ; Laurence was a Hebrew scholar and Anglican church man who died in 1838, the year of the publication of the third edition of this text, revised and enlarged. Although it has been updated and reprinted since, copies of the early printings are quite uncommon. This is a lovely presentation in a 19th century leather binding. Note on first blank leaf indicates that this title was a gift to the painter and Royal Academy member Solomon Alexander Hart "from his friend Maria Callcott".
