His son Ossian became the 10th governor of Florida and sought to redeem Florida from the Confederacy.

About the Author: Tim Gilmore is the author of 15 books including Devil in the Baptist Church: Bob Gray's Unholy Trinity, In Search of Eartha White, and Stalking Ottis Toole: A Southern Gothic. He's the creator of jaxpsychogeo.com and the organizer of the JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival. He has a Ph.D. in English from the University of Florida and teaches writing at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
