Book Description Charles E. Tuttle Co., Rutland, VT, 1957. Boards. Book Condition: Near Fine. First Printing. 211pp. Stated first printing. A collection of Zen stories and teachings. One of the most attractive and stylish of Tuttle's books, printed on cream paper by Kenkyusha in Tokyo, with some Japanese characters and the occasional woodcut. The boards are covered in Japanese paper, printed with a lattice design in brown and white. Endpapers are Japanese handmade paper with petals and bits of leaves. Slipcase echoes the lattice design in cream and black. Some wear and rubbing to the fragile paper on the edges of boards, and a 1/4 inch chip to upper hinge. The slipcase is fine. The publisher's advertising band, with the copy which would normally be on the d/j flaps, is in two pieces, and is laid-in. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 007806
