About this Item

735 p. List of works, bio (from Who's Who), Author preface. 6 pgs pulbisher ads at back. Black / gray cloth covered boards w/ gilt stamped spine titles. Single volume edition, complete, unabridged. In August 1927, author, socialist and activist Upton Sinclair received news that alleged murderers Sacco and Vanzetti were dead. Their legal case seven years earlier had been (and continues to be) controversial, and had been in the court system near Boston (Dedham). Sinclair weaves facts with some fictional characters to tell the story of events before and during the trial. Sinclair (b. 1878 in Maryland, d. 1968 Arizona) had also authored "Oil! A Novel", "Sylvia's Marriage", "The Jungle", "Love's Pilgrimage", "They Call Me Carpenter", and "The Spy" by 1929. Very good. No dust jacket. Edgewear; pinhole with wear to spine; bowing of covers, small stain to cover. Bookseller Inventory # Alibris.0003023

Store Description

Hi, Folks ... Mom said, 'I need to downsize'. Moving to assisted living, what she couldn't take included 8,000-plus books & records. A decade later, my upcountry barn is bursting. Books multiply as others recycle priorities. I now have 30,000 or more books (not yet all online) looking for good homes, and my learning curve has been a roller coaster. I celebrate word-crafters, thought-tumblers, laughter ... the arts of communication at every turn. I preserve, protect, and share. I am also Hedgehog Publishing, 'Words & Pictures by & for Folks with Prickly Backs, Soft Bellies, & Small Brains'.
