Red cloth with front cover decorated in black. xlv, 403 pp. Black and white illustrations by Alfred Kappes, all present as called for. A work of traditional tales chronicling the lives of King Arthur and the various Knights of the Round Table. The 1880 edition of this inspired Twain's satirical 'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court,' as well as helped spur renewed interest in Arthurian legends (Wikipedia). GOOD+ condition. General fading, minor scuffing and soiling to the cloth. Some scuffing to the hinges and extremities. Several gift inscriptions on the second front endpaper. Interior solid but toned.
