About this title

Synopsis:

Boyz Burlesque is a theatrical carousel! An anthology of life's experiences told through the eyes of a man. A cultural thesis woven upon socio-communities, effectively transitioned in the Gay Man. An embodiment of truth, light & love. Promise, hate, fears, sex & valor. Boyz Burlesque is a ritualistic paradigm that forces you to confront your own demons & designs. It is a spiritual journey!!! Boyz Burlesque was truly a spiritual awakening for me, a cathartic trance. I felt it was extremely necessary to tear to shreds off society's contradictions & superficial standards that so many of us men fall prey to. But without preaching a standardized dynamic. Life's examples ranging from child abuse & prostitution, sexual proclivities, coping with the loss of loved ones, substance & alcohol abuse, spousal abuse & many other lil surprises. I wanted to capture the naked essence of being a man & not by one's ideal decree or protocol. Anari continues to tirelessly devote his art in ways & areas where it may serve as a beacon of positivity, strength, hope & love for those that may be searching within their own chaos, questions & confusions. (Especially within the male youth of today). So sit back, relax as we welcome you into the world of “Strang”!

About the Author:

Anari “Strang” Davis personifies what it means to be “Organic” when it comes to his artistry. “I've always had a bizarre visceral when expressing myself”! To never stand on ceremony but to always achieve the highest of plateaus, for it is what I believe to be the true testimony of one's art. A producer, writer & activist, Anari has never been one to divulge into just one dynamic especially when it comes to his LGBT community. I feel as though I have a direct responsibility to not only through my art but my entire being to never just be another “Gay Man”! I wanted to have a voice. Which would come through several projects such ranging from his activism, a benefit he produced in 2011 titled...”ALL THAT DRAG”! A variety show designed to entertain audiences while in the same vein raising proceeds to be donated to variable charities those that continue their advocacy & in the fight against HIV/AIDS! A fixture within the artist's underground communities, he's done everything from spoken word, directed fashion & high end art shows penned several books which includes the heavily anticipated upcoming release...”BOYZ BURLESQUE”! “A theatrical humanization told through the eyes of man”! (he describes it) Boyz Burlesque was truly a spiritual awakening for me, a cathartic trance.
