First edition of the author's first recognized published work, preceded only by the surpressed 1821 "Improvisitore". vii+ 130 pp. bound in later brown half calf over marbled paper covered boards, spine lettered in gilt. Title page and first leaf of text with atchival restoration to the top portions, not affecting the text. Some scuffing to the spine strip and spne extremities. This drama in blank verse was written while Beddoes was still a student at Pembroke College, Oxford (so noted on the title page). Bookseller Inventory # E14086
