About this title

Synopsis:

When you live with a serious chronic illness, you live with a daily reminder of vulnerability, even of mortality. The author has struggled with diabetes for over 40 years, which may be why he used to brood about the age-old mysteries of life, such as: Are we mere collections of chemicals that form a miraculous but short-lived union, soon to disassemble and go their own way again?Despite occasional dispair over this possibility, some inner sensing always knew better, knew that this idea is absurd, that there is more to it all, much more. When, into an otherwise quite ordinary life, a voice came from an unseen level of reality and claimed to have something to say about these matters, the author was ready and willing to listen. He is now convinced that our physical selves grow out of invisible realities, that we are not alone, that, in fact, a vast gallery of consciousnesses is aware of our multidimensional layers, that communication flows in all directions, and that we can consciously participate in this ongoing dialogue. He has found, as the reader will, that there is no place for gloom and dispair in such a world. The author was born in Romania during the war and spent his childhood in post-war Germany. He came to the US at age 16, served in the US Navy, got a math degree from CCNY, and enjoyed a technical career in systems programming at IBM in the Hudson Valley.
