Smooth spine with gilt titles and a gilt cross. Hinges and corners carefully strengthened. Yellow endpapers. Verso of front board with presentation label for Clifton School, from Sir A. V. Paton, with his heraldic book plate to the front free-endpaper. "Ex Libris Aluredi Vaughan Paton." Dated 1923, designed by; "A. G. Law Samson Del.", and engraved by; "Lyon Court." dated 1930 William Stevens, printer, Bell Yard, Temple Bar. Half title with printer's details to verso: "William Stevens, printer, Bell Yard, Temple Bar.", followed by Printed title with engraved vignette. Clear English text, but with some underlining.
