About this title

The town of Dilbert's Forge, Tennessee comes to life when Josh Jackson and Slats Spivey accidentally catch Big 'Un, the largest largemouth bass ever snared, using Bugspit, their own privately blended fishbait

From Library Journal:

Featuring earthy yet homespun characters, this is the story of Big Un, the largest largemouth bass ever caught, Josh Jackson, the good-old-boy who caught him, and Dilbert's Forge, Tennessee, where it happened. After catching Big Un with secret fish bait of local concoction, Josh guest stars on TV outdoor shows and, more importantly, lands big bucks for doing TV commercials plugging fishing paraphernalia. Meanwhile, the still-alive Big Un, the most contemplative character in this leisurely told yarn, is exhibited to gawkers on the trade show circuit. In the closing pages, Josh, now wiser and richer, rescues Big Un from life in a tank. Other characters/caricatures in this colorful tale include Josh's unhappy baton-twirling wife and a hypocritical evangelist. Aspiring to a few laughs and not much more, this entertaining regional novel deserves consideration for popular fiction collections.
