About this Item

In the original binding with both covers detached. The covers' corners are rubbed and are worn. Discoloured, pale maroon cloth covers and a worn and rubbed maroon leather spine with 2 inches of the leather missing at each end. The gilt lettering on the spine is partly faded with the "D" in "Director" missing. This 1836 printing is "A New Edition, Revised and Much Enlarged from the Original Work by Peter Nicholson, Esq., Architect". "Illustrated with 141 copper plates.". The pages are still crisp, but some pages have detached and there is a little silverfishing to some edges. The pages and the plates have varying degrees of foxing - some heavy. There is the frontispiece portrait of Peter Nicholson, 83 pages of Preliminary Esays and Glossary, 3 pages of the Description of Plates, and 338 pages of text. This larger-sized, and heavy book will cost about $45.00 to mail outside of the U.S. Bookseller Inventory # 12357
