No edition/printing statement provided upon copyright page. i-xxii, [23-24], 25-231 pages. Hardcover: H 22.5cm x L 15.25cm. Lacks dust jacket. Black cloth wit bright gilt stamped lettering to spine and front board with latter also having personalized name stamp "Ross A. Collins" at its lower right. Toning to edges with deckle fore-edge and bottom edge. Occasional light foxing and spots of light soiling to interior pages which, overall, remain quite clean. Binding is firm. A very good copy. This copy was evidently owned by Mississippi Congressman Ross Alexander Collins (1880-1968) who served as Attorney General of Mississippi from 1912 to 1920 and was elected to U.S. House of Representatives from 1921 to 1935 and again from 1937 to 1943. Collins is noted for his efforts to arrange a $1.5 million appropriation so that the Library of Congress could acquire the 3,114 volume Dr. Otto Vollbehr collection which, among its many treasures, included a vellum-bound Gutenberg Bible that remains among one of the most significant books in the LoC.
