Bound in brown weave cloth over boards, fine publisher's device in gilt to front cover, missing rear board, with a repaired, rebacked heavy brown paper cover over stiff card wraps at spine with paper title label, chip missing at rear panel bottom. Imperial octavo format. Front paste-down reinforced with paper tape. Rough-cut fore and bottom edges, to edge only lightly dust-soiled. Printed for the Grolier Club by the De Vinne Press. Colophone notes, "The Publication Committee of the Grolier Club certify that this copy is one of an edition of four hundred copies on Holland hand-made paper, and three copies on vellum, all of which were printed in the month of April, 1893." First edition. Preface from 1893 from the Committee, then a List of Facsimiles, then Collations and Notes, proper, and with many, many quite sharp and distinct facsimile pages, reproducing well the original attractions of the title pages. Easy to read, marvelous to look at. Illustrated throughout with reproductions of title pages, engraved plates, etc. Bound in brown morocco spine with gilt-stamped lettering over plain stiff paper wraps. All edges untrimmed. Many leaves uncut. Housed in a blue buckram chemise lined with marbled paper, and with a cloth tie. One of an edition limited to 400 copies printed on Holland hand-made paper.
