The catalogue of the sale of the Frank Hall Standish (1799 – 1840) collection. He bequeathed his important collection of Spanish pictures and drawings to the French king, Louis Philippe, who displayed them in the Louvre until the February revolution in 1848, at which point the king reclaimed them as his private property. After his death, they were sold between 1852–3, the drawings, etc., in Paris and the paintings in London. Dates of the sale on title-page and in the text have been altered in ink to the correct days of the sale. Prices have been written in ink alongside each entry. Spine very slightly rubbed. VG +.
