Signed and dated Watercolour of a man playing the cello in an oak panelled room. 14 x 21 Inches, in original Edwardian gold mount Previously preserved in a portfolio and therefore not exposed to light, image in fresh strong colour. A well-executed watercolour showing an unidentified distinguished-looking elderly man playing a cello. In pencil on verso is written " Exhibited Old Watercolour Society". Goodfellow was a Manchester artist and is known to have exhibited at many Northwest galleries including the Walker art gallery, Liverpool and the Manchester city art gallery where his works were exhibited on 16 occasions.
