Hardcover first edition - First edition in a first issue dust jacket. A massive anthology which boasts (very literally and repeatedly on the dustjacket) 1024 pages, 65 authors and 77 stories. Includes contributions from of G. K. Chesterton, Arthur Conan Doyle, Stephen Leacock, Wyndam Lewis, Jerome K. Jerome, Hillaire Belloc, H. G. Wells, Oscar Wilde and, of course, Wodehouse himself, in addition to his preface."One never quite forgets a story that has made them laugh" and "It is not for women and weaklings, who will be unable to lift it." says Wodehouse in his preface. Very good in gold cloth with black lettering in a good only dust jacket, with a large chip missing from one side of the lower spine, tear along front fold of flap, and other wear. Very uncommon in dustjacket (especially the first issue dj) - which is understandable considering the fact that the dust jacket trumpets over and over what a great value it is for only 3/6.
