About this Item

The wonderful acclaim of this book is the JAMES BOND / IAN FLEMING Connection - Colonel Sun is the first James Bond continuation novel published after Ian Fleming's 1964 death. - After Ian Fleming's death in 1964, the copyright holders: Glidrose decided to continue the Bond franchise with a series of well-known authors each writing a book under a pen-name. - However, only Kingsley Amis took up the offer [writing as 'Robert Markham'], and in 1968 his 007 novel, 'Colonel Sun' was published. - Bond fans now consider it a classic, with a gritty, fast-paced story written in a polished style by the established Amis [effectively re-creating the famous 'Fleming sweep']. - There is also a list of The James Bond books on the rear dustjacket prelim. It states: The Adventures of James Bond by Ian Fleming, then lists the 14 titles. - CONDITION & DESCRIPTION: The original dustjacket accompanies this book. Few small closed edge tears and creasing with a few very small chips to the top and bottom of the spine and the corners. Retains price to inner front prelim [21s. net]. Slight browning to the lighter areas. Cover art by Tom Adams [Dali-esque]. Now housed in a removable plastic archival sleeve for protection into the future. - Black boards with gold/gilt lettering and design to the spine. Near mint condition. Very clean and tightly bound to inner page block. - Endpage maps front and rear are present and in a great condition. Story has 255 pages and these are clean and tightly bound. - E N D - Our orders are shipped within 1 or 2 business days. - Thanks for your interest and I hope you like the book enough to buy it.
