About this Item

Golf Hall of Famer Ken Venturi overcame a four year slump to win one of its biggest prizes, The U. S. Open at the Congressional Country Club in Washington, D. C. in 1964 while suffering heat exhaustion. A doctor walked the last few holes with Venturi and after that year the USGA changed the format from 36 holes the final day to 18 holes. This is his story. Nice copy, tightly bound, no names or other markings, and read very carefully . The DJ was not so fortunate, it has some edgewear and one closed v shaped tear that has been mended with archival tape, and some light stains. Still looks bright and now protected by a mylar sleeve.
