Venice 1558 Francis Bindon. First printed in Paris in 1555. Grouchy, a French Protestant, was one of Montaigne's instructors, and this book is cited in a Montaigne essay. In Latin. Small octavo, 272pp., index, limp vellum. A few old ink underlines in text and notes on title page. Appears complete, but opens to Preface at A2. Good, without original ties, small piece pasted on title page (covering an ink note), small chip at right margin of title page (not affecting printing), old stain or discolor on about first 30 leaves.
