About this Item

First Tower Edition of the 1939 William Morrow title. Very Good cloth lightly worn along bottom edge, in chipped action-dustwrapper. Drifter Jim Kerfoot rides into wild-horse country in northern Nevada, leaving behind his gunman's life. But as always he finds his skill as a fast-gun is required in assistance of underdogs, beginning with a shoot-out with rustlers stealing an old Indian's steers. It develops into a courtroom murder mystery with quite a cast of colorful characters. Drago was a Western Heritage Award author, who published under his own name and a handful of pseudonyms, more novels than you can shake a stick at. His career began at the end of the Dime Novel era and continued for decades through the era of Max Brand and Zane Grey. Many of his tales were turned into B movies of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s.
