Cal Poly Pomona Students Tell It Like It Is
What do Corn Flakes and Cal Poly Pomona have in common? The university was launched on cereal giant W.K. Kellogg's property, located in the west side section of Pomona. Kellogg had first purchased the land because of an interest in Arabian horses. As a part of the contract with the breakfast mogul, Cal Poly Pomona maintains a herd of purebred Arabian horses to this day.
So are the dining halls anything Tony the Tiger would deem "grrreat"?
"If you are looking for a nice snack or a quick breakfast or lunch, my favorite spot is the ENV Café. The atmosphere is nice, the people are friendly, there's places to sit. They even serve toasted bagels and have doughnuts."
"The food on campus in the dining commons is the same as the food in all dining commons on every campus-it's terrible. That's why you only live in the dorms once. Then you move into the Suites and you can eat at Vista Café. Vista serves all different kinds of food that you can purchase with Bronco Bucks, which come with the meal plan for everyone who lives on campus."
Where can an Apple Jack meet a Pop-tart (and vice versa)?
"The girls are cool, I guess. It's really hard to find 'hot' ones, because they go to class then leave, but there are quite a few that stick around. So if you're lucky and find one, approach her and introduce yourself."
"Fraternities have most of the hot guys. If you are searching for the hot guys, go to the fraternity parties. If you are going soul-searching, don't even go there-guys here are just looking for fun."
Visiting campus isn't enough.
