750 copies printed by the Times-Star Press of Alameda. xvii, 163 pages; illustrations; bound in gold foil boards with black lettering on the spine. First half of the book relates his account of crossing overland to California, then mining in the Feather River area describing Marysville in 1850-51 and Nevada City and Grass Valley to 1852.
