About this title

"This is my story. I am confined to Tennessee's death row in the fall of 1938, I will relate the circumstances that brought me here. The aftermath of a love affair thirty-eight years ago, a love affair which still burns deeply within me, during an era when discovery meant death..." -Adrianna "Anna" Randall "Anna" the woman who defied the world around her for the sake of love, Jordan her love, a man who carries himself with pride though shunned by both races and Murray the son who must only know her as "Aunt Anna," that she will do anything to protect. "FROM WHENCE HE CAME," is loosely based on a rumor the author's father related to her about the white daughter of an affluent Memphis cotton broker who gave birth to a child fathered by an African-American lover at the beginning of the twentieth century-when a white Southern society did not tolerate mixed-race relationships. Once again the author captures the passion and vivid, historical detail that bring her characters to life. Epitomizing the sentiment, love knows no bounds...
