Harper and Brothers, Publishers, NY. Interesting first hand account of war in Louisiana and the Carolinas. Hoffman highlights Port Hudson, Sabine Pass, Mansfield and the Red River area. The author was a Staff officer on Brigadier General Thomas Williams staff. After the war Hoffman was Secretary of the U.S. Legation at Paris during the Franco-Prussian War. Good copy of the first edition. Wear to the top and bottom spine tabs and the hinges are stating. This copy belonged to the Odd Fellow Library in Philadelphia, it has a spine label, a label on the inside front cover and a 3 stamps in the front and back of the book. No dust jacket. 285 pages.
