About this Item

octavo, (116)pp. Schulze , a 1917 USMA graduate, was assigned to the cavalry, transferred to aviation in France, and after training joined the U.S. 185th Aero Squadron about the time of the Armistice. The unit returned to America and he was then posted to the U.S. 41st Aero Squadron at Coblenz, Germany. After that unit returned to the U.S. he joined the U.S. 138th Aero Squadron. He was killed in a flying accident on June 28, 1919, while delivering a special edition of The Amaroc News announcing the fact that the German delegates had signed the treaty of Versailles.
