Twenty letters of 1771-76 to his brother and nephew, with introduction, genealogical table and notes. Obviously produced for private circulation, though there are two copies in COPAC (Manchester, National Library of Scotland). The first orthodox publication was in the Texas University journal Studies in Literature and Language in 1960.
