Stated, FIRST Edition. Author wrote 'The Way of All Flesh" and the very successful 'Erewhon", plus lesser known works. A scholarly and great reference volume. Bound in black cloth (dulled spine titles). This copy is VG- with the boards having overall light soiling. Blank end-papers have age-toned, but interior pages are clean and bright. A fabulous bibliography with a separate section of 'Butler's books translated into other languages' and a section of "Books devoted to Butler", both at rear. Dust jacket, is Near Very Good (or VG - ), being complete, with a sunned spine (an approx. 2" area to lower spine paper of jacket, appears 'lifted', probably a label removed, near bottom edge. Impacts authors name on spine paper.) Front flap corner clipped. A must literary reference item. FIRST Edition. 154 pages. Mylar protected jacket. Bookseller Inventory # 002348
