folio (46cm x 35cm), orange-red cloth with dj., gilt lettering to front cover; text (in Farsi) of Bogolyubov (1908) and of Thomson (1973); 36 fullpage colorplates (many of them having same or similar size as those of the large folio, first edition, of 1908; the colour printings are much better than those in theThompson reprint of 1973), 23 b/w plates (each depicting one carpet); two maps; all (text and plates) printed on thick glossy art paper; book in vg+ condition, dj with closed tears and a couple of creases to flaps (good-); rare item in any condition- still rarer in such condition and coming with its original dj.; sumptuously produced, this is a true alternative to both, the first, 1908, editon as well as to the small format 1973 reprint - please inquire before ordering.
