Don Jardine has taught art in several art schools and colleges. He has also been a professor of art at the University of Minnesota for 15 years. Jardine has taught drawing, cartooning, art history, landscape painting, portraiture, package design, calligraphy, fashion illustration, anatomy, sculpture, art appreciation, association design, advertising art and illustration, and lettering.
Jardine graduated twice magna cum laude from Weber College in Ogden, Utah, where he earned an associate of science title and a certificate of completion in art. He went on to earn a bachelor of science degree in secondary art education and a master of science degree in education administration (with emphasis in art) for the university of Utah, where he also graduated magna cum laude. Jardine earned his doctorate degree in educational administration (with research in art and art-related dissertation) from the University of Minnesota.
A writer and illustrator of numerous art books, Jardine also edited the Illustrator Magazine for more than 25 years. he has been a judge at many local, state, regional, national, and international art competitions. A past president of the Utah Art Educator's Association, Jardine also served as an art expert for the national Education Association in Washington, D.C. He is listed in Who's Who in the Midwest and International Who's Who in Art and Antiques.
