First 'Cheap' edition [FIRST EDITION, Second Impression]. 8vo., pps. 320. Publisher's brown cloth, titled to spine in gilt, in pictorial dustwrapper. Some edge spotting, gilt to binding toned else binding is fine, 3/6 wrapper with minor wear/creases and a couple of short tears. A most attractive copy, housed in a leather-spined clamshell box. Formerly sold by the Sherlockian dealer Nigel Williams, with his pencil notes to flyleaf. The Case-Book was first published in 1927, priced 7/6, in pink cloth; this 'cheap edition' (3/6, being the second impression) followed in 1929 but was cased in brown cloth and titled only on the spine.
