About this Item

54 p. 23 ill. Catalogue of 93 works exhibited (83 by R.A. Blakelock and 10 by his daughter Marian, whose work resembles her father's), with descriptive notes, dimensions, and the location of signatures for each work. Paintings and drawings loaned by the family and by private collectors, with biographical notes on the artist and his family. An essential reference work on Blakelock, given the extent of fakes and forgeries then and since on the market, including paintings by his daughter, whose work had been acquired by unscrupulous dealers and passed off as the work of her father (both father and daughter having been institutionalized prior to the exhibition). Cover soiled; one-inch marginal tear along upper spine. Extremely rare. Bookseller Inventory # 018807
