The present volume describes and illustrates the group of daggers forming part of the collection of arms exhibited by The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The daggers of the present collection represent numerous examples dating from the 14th to the 18th century. 85 photographic plates at rear depict reproductions of daggers from the collections of Jean Jacques Reubell, John Stoneacre Ellis, William H. Riggs, and de Dino. Each plate is protected with a loose tissue guard. Additional in-text b/w illustrations. Age wear, scuffing and staining on binding. Joints split at front and rear boards but firmly holding. Hinges tight. Small chip on spine, fine surface airline cracks on spine. Some creasing to few loose tissue guards.
