Published in two versions simultaneously, Italian and English, under thw artistic direction of Ermanno Gagliardo. This magnificent work was one of three volumes dealing with the greatest of all the Norman monuments in Sicily, the Cathedral of Monreale and the buildings that surround it. It followed the volume by Ernst Kitzinger on the mosaics in the Cathedral and the volume by Roberto Salvini on the capitals in the Cloister.
