Book Description Nikola Tesla Museum, 1959. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First edition, first printing. Very good, no jacket as issued. Arranged for print by Radmila Bakalovic. Printed by the Service of the Federation of the Jurist's Association of Yugoslavia. 1959. Beograd, Yugoslavia. Nikola Tesla Museum. The book consists of "Materials [. . .] prepared by the National Committee for celebration of the Centenary of the birth of Nikola Tesla," in various languages. A fly title (though following the title page) has the dedication, "UNDER THE HIGH PATRONAGE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC JOSIP BROZ-TITO." From the Introduction: "The Nikola Tesla Museum presents in this book the materials of the formal meeting and Congress held [in Beograd] on July 10, 11, and 12, 1956. In addition to general information on the centenary celebrations, the book contains the speeches and reports presented to the formal meeting, the addresses made by the delegates, as well as the lectures which the foreign scientists held on the occasion." Addresses are in French, English, German, and Russian. Among the presenters are Niels Bohr, Sir Arthur Fleming (noted British engineer and educator), and many prominent European scientists. The sole American represented here is Professor Carl Chambers ( University of Pennsylvania.) With a List of Delegates, detailed Program, and four pages of black-and-white photographs. Very slight soiling to grey cloth boards, slightly bowed with age, otherwise near fine. Gold gilt title and publisher embossed on front cover. First few pages slightly wrinkled (apparently as manufactured), otherwise pages are clean and undamaged, showing only minor age toning, no foxing or other damage. Extremely scarce.
