About the Author:

Duke Okes, CQE, CQA, CQMgr, is a certified management consultant who works with quality managers and senior executives to help them implement change in their organizations. He is an ASQ Fellow and has been active within the ASQ Quality Management Division, teaching courses on quality management, developing the CQMgr refresher course, and contributing to the first edition of the Certified Quality Manager Handbook. Okes is also a former university professor in statistical quality control.

Russell T. Westcott, CQA, CQMgr, president of R.T. Westcott & Associates (est. 1979), guides smaller companies in strategic planning, establishing ISO 9000 based quality systems and in preparing applications for Baldrige-type awards. Westcott previously worked as a director of human resources, an internal consultant, and as the project manager of a successful 3-year improvement project. He is a frequent speaker and writer on quality management topics, an instructor for the ASQ-Quality Management Division's Certified Quality Manager Refresher course and ASQ's Quality 101 course.
