Synopsis: This is a collection of recipes for illegal drinking alcohol that was originally compiled by Vincent "Charlie" S. during Prohibition. It began with the ratification of the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution on January 16, 1919 and passed as law on October 28, 1919 under the title of the "Volstead Act." Prohibition made many people rich, like the Kennedy's, but not my grandfather "Charlie," as he was so fondly called by many of his friends. The actual recipes were saved through the efforts of my mother, Ruth. I now pass them on to my family and anyone interested in the Prohibition Era. This book contains recipes on making whiskey, wine and beer and is sold only as a historical record of the Prohibition Era. This book is not for anyone under 21 years of age. It is not published with any intention of violating State or Federal laws. None of the recipes were ever made by the author and he holds no responsibility as to the quality of the final product. This is purely a historical record.
